Trying to find something from the print shop exhibit in the Sacramento History Museum was pretty difficult for today. August 28th is National Bow Tie Day! While the Lewis Winter Collection, which is full of cuts of clothing items for newspaper advertisements and catalogs in the 1890s, there are not really bow tie options. However, Howard found this electrotype, made about 90 years ago, from the Bill Gaylord Collection. The cartoon of the man in the print doesn’t look very happy, but at least he’s dressed in a nice suit with a bow tie!
