1782 SHIPWRECK ARTIFACTS! Copper pots were some of the first artifacts that our archaeologists remember seeing when they discovered this 1792 Revolutionary War shipwreck in the Atlantic Ocean in St. Augustine, Florida.
The pots were nested together, which is why the smallest one is in the best shape.
You can view artifacts from the shipwreck in the WRECKED! exhibit in the Keepers’ House basement and through the PGA Viewing Window in the Charles G Cox Archaeology Conservation Lab at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum.
