Blending neo-soul, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, and soul, the album features appearances from Carlos Santana, Mary J. Blige, and D’Angelo. Widely regarded as a landmark album, Miseducation debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 422,000 copies sold in its first week, a record for a female artist at the time. At the 1999 Grammys, Hill made history with five wins, including Album of the Year and Best R&B Album. The album has since sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and earned Diamond certification in the U.S., cementing its place as one of the most celebrated and influential albums of its era.
