Waymo’s driverless rides just expanded deeper into the East Valley. The company added 55 square miles to its service area, allowing riders to now book trips in Gilbert, San Tan Ranch and additional Chandler neighborhoods. The expansion brings Waymo’s total Phoenix-area coverage to more than 350 square miles. Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is also expected to be added soon, joining Sky Harbor and Scottsdale Airpark.
