Four Valley cities in eight days have now found something wrong with their license plate cameras. Surprise is the latest. The city suspended its automated license plate readers Aug. 12 after a routine audit identified what it called an anomaly in how the system was used. An officer is on administrative leave while the city investigates a potential policy violation. Chief Evan Becher said public trust requires transparency and accountability.
