One Arizona monsoon storm reportedly destroyed $500,000 worth of trees in Litchfield Park. City officials estimate around 50 large trees were brought down Sunday night, including one that had stood for 60 years. Trees blocked roads and sidewalks, while the Wigwam Golf Course was left covered in damage. The storm also caused flooding, damaged property and buckled sidewalks that will need to be replaced. Winds reached up to 80 mph across parts of the West Valley. Despite the destruction, no injuries were reported. The city expects to begin replanting trees in October once temperatures cool.
