A Glendale couple is facing child abuse charges after police say they were intoxicated while walking with two young children in 108-degree heat after leaving the Cardinals Red and White Practice. Police were called around 6 p.m. Sunday near 91st Avenue and Montebello Road after a woman spotted Ryan and May Mullin stumbling across the roadway with the children. She stopped and offered them a ride out of the heat, but told officers Ryan became angry, punched her vehicle and fell, injuring his face. According to police, the family had been walking for hours after leaving State Farm Stadium. May told officers the kids had gone through two bottles of water, though one was still half full. Officers say both parents smelled of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication. Police also say Ryan ignored commands to stop and grabbed one of the children by the wrist, refusing to let go until an officer threatened to use force.
