If you needed an excuse to have a day at the beach, here you go. August 30th is National Beach Day! This day is to raise awareness of beaches for outdoor recreation, but also to call attention to keeping beaches clean.
For today, Lou letterpress printed a small electrotype, which is one of the many cuts that we have that is not part of a specific collection in our print shop exhibit at the Sacramento History Museum. The text below, set in 24 point Caslon, states, “Life’s a beach!” This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press.
