Happy 67th birthday, fairytaletownsac! On August 29, 1959, the “storybook park” located in William Land Park, known as Fairytale Town, opened to the public. Fairytale Town was first conceived in 1956 after the initial success of Disneyland. More than 17,000 people visited during the opening weekend. Fairytales, nursery rhymes, and many classic children’s stories come to life in the park and the life of those stories continue to this day.
