The 2026 college football season is finally here. After Indiana completed a perfect 16–0 season and captured its first national championship, the rest of the country enters 2026 looking to knock the Hoosiers off the top. But the defending champions won’t even begin the season ranked No. 1. Ohio State holds the top spot in the preseason AP Poll, followed by No. 2 Oregon, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Notre Dame and No. 5 Texas. Indiana begins its title defense at No. 6.
