Christina Koch was welcomed home by the Wolfpack community on Centennial Campus at a homecoming celebration taking place on The Oval. Thousands gathered to see Koch and celebrate her return. Directly following the homecoming event, the University held a press conference where Koch emphasized how her time at NC State was fundamental to her early career. “NC State obviously was so formative for me. I did work at Technician; at the time I was a photographer. Something specific that I learned from my photography editor at Technician was to make sure that your pictures tell a story,” Koch said. “I think about that every single time I raise a camera to my eye, whether it’s taking pictures of the moon or my crewmates, so that’s really important.” It was at NC State that Koch discovered, “If you just take it one step at a time and create goals that are manageable and also accept that failure along the way is where you’re going to learn the most, then you will get there.” To read the full...
