The season is shifting in River North, and so is our gallery! We open on Gil Bruvel’s “Feeling the Light,” a bust made out of stacked wooden sticks. Then Zhuang Hong Yi’s’s hand-folded rice paper flowers alongside Michael Kalish’s “Nude in Repose.” Isabelle Scheltjens’ “Lust” resolves out of pure abstraction the farther back you step. Max Steven Grossman’s “Chicago Sport SQ,” a library of Chicago sports history built from thousands of real book spines. Closing with Patrick Hughes’ “Bertie and Buddha,” a painting that appears to rotate as you walk past it. And that’s just what made the reel. Luis Kaiulani just joined Carousel for the first time, Adam Umbach has a full spotlight downstairs, and others are on view too. There’s more to discover than a few seconds can show.
