He respects himself and the sport too much to stick around if he can't beat a fighter at the level of his opponent, Johan Gonzalez 36-4. Hurd had a tremendous run in the division from 2015-2018 racking up 6 knockouts and a win over Erislandy Lara to become a unified champion. He's also the only man to stop Austin Trout.
