This year, there are eight honors and nine standard freshmen Biology classes, the most in SM East’s history and an increase from last year’s seven honors and nine standard biology classes, according to Science Department Head and Biology teacher Jennifer Davis.  Biology is a required class for all freshmen, according to SMSD.  While class enrollments vary significantly over the years, the freshmen class this year and the sophomore class last year were some of the largest in school history.
