Aaron Donald is officially coming out of retirement. The 35-year-old signed a one-year, $20 million deal with the Los Angeles Rams that can reach $30 million with playoff incentives. It will be his first football since the 2023 season.
But the real story is WHY. The Rams lost the NFC Championship in Seattle, then watched the Seahawks win the Super Bowl from inside their own division. So they traded Jared Verse and a first-round pick for reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett, sent another first to Kansas City for Trent McDuffie, and now they have reigning MVP Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, Puka Nacua, and two multi-time DPOYs on the same defensive line.
And the Super Bowl this season is at SoFi Stadium, the same building where Aaron Donald ended his last Super Bowl with the final pressure on Joe Burrow.
Week 1 is the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia on September 10, streaming on Netflix. Subscribe for the fallout all season.
