SPORTS | Napier uses football alum to ‘connect the dots’ between past and present With an “open door policy” for spring and fall training camps, Napier said he wants to “connect the dots” for not just the program, but specifically for his players. “We’re all Dukes, and I think that we wanted to be very intentional about plugging into each generation, each era, and make that a strength of the program,” Napier said. As the 10th head coach of the program, the Dukes have seen many eras. “I think what I’ve seen in college football, having worked in a lot of different spots, is there’s always ‘I’m a Houston guy,’ ‘I’m a Matthews guy,’ ‘I’m a Withers guy,’ ‘I’m a Cignetti guy,’ ‘I’m a Chesney guy,’” Napier said, “[But] we all bleed purple.” Read the full story online through the link in our bio. ✍️ Libby Mercer @libbymercersports_ 📸 Breeze file photo
