What makes Lombard good defensively? The biggest thing I see… HE PLAYS LOOSE. Doesn’t look like he forces anything. Of course it makes it a little easier when you take over the job when the person in front of you didn’t perform too well. But Lombard’s ability to attack a ball to eliminate space, as well as retreat from a ball to create space is what is going to make him an elite defender at this level.
