39 years ago today, Michael Jackson released ‘Bad.’ Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson co-produced 'Bad,' Jackson's seventh studio album, released through Epic Records nearly five years after the massive success of 'Thriller.' Recording stretched across more than three years, beginning with early demos in late 1983, pausing for the Victory Tour and Captain EO work, and finally wrapping in July 1987 after extensive sessions at Westlake Studios and Jackson's home studio in Encino. It marked Jackson's third and final collaboration with Jones, who has said he specifically pushed Jackson toward writing nearly the entire record himself, feeling it was time for an honest, deeply personal project as pressures in Jackson's life continued mounting.
