A chance London studio session back in 2017 sparked the origins of 'I'm Good (Blue),' when Bebe Rexha reached out to David Guetta on social media while both happened to be in the city for work. Guetta had already been toying with a remix instrumental built around Eiffel 65's 1998 hit "Blue (Da Ba Dee)," and Rexha suggested writing fresh lyrics over that familiar melody just for fun. Guetta debuted the demo at Ultra Music Festival that same year, but the pair ultimately shelved it, moving on to release "Say My Name" together in 2018 instead. The track sat forgotten for years until a bootleg version quietly built a following on YouTube, eventually crossing over to TikTok in 2022. Rexha has said she stumbled across a snippet of it on the app without even realizing it was hers, prompting Guetta to dig up the old files and finish what they'd started.
