The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo staff welcomed Rocky Mountain goat twins into the family on May 19.  After a full gestation period lasting 180 days, second-time Rocky Mountain goat mom Lena gave birth to her first pair of twins. It is not uncommon for this breed of goats to have twins following a first pregnancy.  Staff noticed Lena was in active labor May 19 with baby No. 1 born at 12:09 p.m. and baby No. 2 born at 12:34 pm.  The two newborns, to be named after 30 days following zoo tradition, are bonding well with their attentive mother, who is a jungle gym to the kids. Staff has yet to intervene to give ample family bonding time, so the weights and sexes have not been confirmed.
