The USS Constitution got underway in #Boston Harbor this morning on the occasion of Chief Petty Officer Heritage Week. Old Ironsides traveled to Castle Island where she fired off a 21-gun salute. A similar 17-gun salute was performed as the ship passed the US Coast Guard base in the North End, prior to returning to Charlestown. Boston Fire department boats performed a water salute, as Boston Police Harbor unit boats and Coast Guard vessels kept curious boaters from straying to close. #followingnbc10boston #followingboston 📸pictureboston
