There was a stretch where every morning started with me trying to make her “get it”.
“You’ll feel better once you’re there.”
“It’s just one day.”
“Everyone feels nervous sometimes.”
None of it worked.
Because I was talking to her mind, and her body wasn’t listening.
The alarm in her nervous system didn’t care about logic - it only knew danger, and no amount of reasoning was going to switch that off.
That year, she missed over 100 school days.
I didn’t know yet that trying harder to convince her wasn’t the answer.
That the fixing, the pushing, the “just try” - none of it could reach what was actually happening in her body.
Everything changed when we stopped starting at the mind and started at the body.
Not overnight.
Not in a straight line.
But week by week, the alarm got a little quieter, and the recovery got a little faster.
She went from 100+ missed days to walking into her first-choice university.
Not because we pushed harder.
Because we finally started in the rig...
