On my last day in Paris I kept thinking about what this club pulled off. The Paris Helen Keller Lions Club started this race in 2019 with 400 runners. This year 3,000 came, and what it raises goes straight into schools and programs for kids with disabilities in their own neighborhood. What stayed with me wasn’t the size of it — it was watching a group of friends in their thirties do it together. That’s the kind of friendship I set out to find.
