🐕‍🦺 September is #NationalServiceDogMonth, a time to celebrate and raise awareness about the life-changing impact service dogs have on people with disabilities. 🎉 #Servicedogs are dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. They provide greater independence, confidence and joy, helping their partners live their lives to the fullest. Some of the many tasks could include pulling wheelchairs, picking up dropped items, alerting to sounds and blood sugar levels, and mitigating symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
