Arm slot too high? It’s becoming less common but I still come across QBs who have worked very hard to achieve a ‘high release’, but have actually over-exaggerated it to the point where it’s becoming less biomechanically efficient. Getting the arm too high overhead usually involves tilting the shoulders and curving the spine while also increasing the potential for impingement in the shoulder joint. This drill set-up with @benen.curran helps to encourage a neutral spine and a slightly wider armslot (in the high 3/4 range) which optimizes the joint angle and lever length. Benen always spins it, but there’s a definite JUMP to the ball when the slot is just right. #rotaryQB #quarterback #kinesiology #modernQBmechanics #QBsmpl
