Creative Therapy Sessions 003: Not everything you love has to become a business. I think one of the strangest parts of being a creative today is how quickly we’re encouraged to monetize everything. You like photography? Start charging. You make art? Open a shop. You have a hobby? Turn it into content. You’re good at something? Build a business around it. And as someone building a creative career, I understand the excitement of making money from something you genuinely love. But I’m also learning that I need things in my life that exist simply because they make me happy. Not everything needs a strategy, an audience, a client, or a return on investment. Sometimes you can paint the picture, decorate the journal, take the photo, make the graphic, or start the weird little project simply because creating it sounded fun.
