Did you catch the partial lunar eclipse? Jamaicans who looked to the skies Thursday night were treated to a partial lunar eclipse, as the Moon passed through Earth’s shadow. The celestial event began at approximately 8:23 p.m. on August 27, with the partial phase starting at 9:33 p.m. The eclipse reached its maximum at 11:12 p.m., when much of the Moon was covered by Earth’s shadow. The partial phase ended at 12:51 a.m. Friday, while the eclipse officially concluded at 2:01 a.m. The entire eclipse was visible from Jamaica, weather conditions permitting.
