Spending a weekend at Kansas City Fashion Week's Spring / Summer 2023 show, and I was blown away by the effort that went into the event. I had the opportunity to say hello to two heroes of mine ( Elliot Carlyle & CaSandra Diggs) of the cfda and the CFDA IMPACT initiative. The CFDA IMPACT initiative has 2,000 members and growing helps to identify, connect, and support Black and Brown professionals in the fashion industry. Being a part of this network allows creatives a better chance at securing roles, networking with industry leaders, and finding access to opportunities that otherwise would have been closed off.
