Nothing says Mischpacha Monday like the whole Lower Division gathering together to hear Mr. Mike and Morah Elaina blow the shofar! 📯 Throughout the month of Elul, our LD students start their mornings with this centuries-old Jewish tradition—and if you’ve ever heard a shofar up close, you know it’s a pretty effective way to get everyone’s attention. Elul is the Hebrew month leading up to Rosh Hashanah, traditionally a time to pause, reflect on the year behind us, and think intentionally about the year ahead. The daily sounding of the shofar serves as a kind of wake-up call—a reminder to look inward and begin preparing for the new year. 🐯 At DJDS, it’s also one more way Jewish learning and tradition come to life. Our students don’t just learn about Elul and the shofar—they hear it, experience it, and gather together as a community to take part in a tradition shared across generations. A pretty meaningful way to start the morning—and the new year—together. #MischpachaMonday #DJDSTi...
