History teaches us the power that can come with marching to secure representation, civil and human rights, and voting rights. This week, the 1,000 Miles to Memphis journey concluded at the National Civil Rights Museum, bringing together advocates and community members committed to civic engagement and the power of the vote. Memphis was more than the final stop. Ending this journey at the Museum connected today’s work with the history that continues to shape how we understand democracy, citizenship and our collective responsibility to act.
