Intron Health has unveiled Sahara v2.5, introducing voice AI designed to understand how Africans naturally speak by mixing languages in the same sentence.
The platform now supports bilingual code-switching across 12 African languages—including Zulu, Hausa, Swahili, and Luganda—and debuts a trilingual model switching between Kinyarwanda, English, and French. Benchmarks show Sahara outperforming global models like Gemini and ElevenLabs across tested local languages, while expanding total speech recognition coverage to 31 African languages.
By accurately handling fluid multilingual conversations without losing context, the technology enables banks, hospitals, and telecom operators to deploy real-time voice tools built directly for local users.
