Most sales accountability conversations fail before they start.
Not because managers are afraid to have them. Because there's nothing objective to point to.
If "good" was never defined, every conversation about performance turns into an opinion battle. The rep thinks they're doing fine. The manager thinks they're not. Neither one has anything to point to except a feeling.
The fix isn't better delivery or a tougher manager. It's a written standard that exists before the conversation ever happens. Once activity, production, and behavior are defined and visible, accountability stops being confrontation. It becomes pointing at a number.
This week, write down the specific activity and production numbers that define "good" for your sales role. Put it somewhere every rep can see it.
