Those of you who are fans of convertible cars will know that the best accessory you can buy is a windstopper. A windstopper is a mesh screen fitted behind the front seats of a convertible that stops the wind rushing back into the car when the roof is down. It dramatically cuts down the buffeting around your head and shoulders, keeping the cockpit calmer, warmer and much more comfortable — especially at speed and in colder weather. Having owned two cabriolets and brought windstoppers, and driven them throughout the year with the roof down, I can vouch from experience just how good a windstopper is at eliminating wind from the cockpit and making roofless driving a very enjoyable experience – even in a British winter.
