At the beginning of the dive, several forces are working against you.
⬆️ Buoyancy
Near the surface, buoyancy is still pushing you upward while you’re trying to go down.
🦵 Uneven kicking
If one leg is stronger than the other, your body can rotate or drift off the line.

An elbow outside the streamline creates extra drag on one side. That uneven resistance can push or rotate the body.
