Please help us celebrate Melea! She rang our end-of-treatment bell after ~five months in our #Oakland hospital receiving treatment for sickle cell disease!   In March, Melea traveled with her family from #Florida to #UCSF to participate in a gene therapy trial for #sicklecell, an extremely painful inherited blood disorder. To celebrate her bell ringing, our team brought out a #karaoke machine, and Melea and her mom performed a song from the musical “Hamilton” for her care team.   Melea can’t wait to return home and get back to a sense of normalcy.
