A Christmas classic is getting spooky.
Horror director Ti West is putting his spin on the ghostly tale of Scrooge with "Ebenezer," starring Johnny Depp in the titular role — marking the actor's first turn in a major Hollywood release since his 2022 defamation trial.
"The idea of him doing his thing, in a way, is still prevalent. But it’s not Captain Jack. It’s certainly not Wonka. It’s not Edward Scissorhands. It doesn’t feel like any of those," West tells EW of Depp's performance. "But you do feel like the mercurial guy that created those things is doing his take on Ebenezer Scrooge."
#Ebenezer, also starring Rupert Grint, Ian McKellen, and Tramell Tillman, hits theaters on Nov. 13.
