I think we’ve forgotten what youth sports are supposed to do.
Yes, we want kids to compete. We want them to get better. We want them to win.
But somewhere in all the rankings, exposure, and pressure to be “elite,” we stopped talking enough about who they’re becoming in the process.
Being a good teammate. Handling adversity. Learning how to lead. Learning how to lose. Learning how to work for something beyond yourself.
Those lessons will matter long after the last game they ever play.
Parents, coaches and trainers let’s build a better ecosystem with values, positive culture and human development.
The future depends on it.
