Jeff Metcalf had a national platform to apologize. He chose not to. In his first interview since his son's killer was denied a new trial, Metcalf defended calling Karmelo Anthony a "watermelon felon" and refused to walk back any of it, only offering that it "wasn't his finest moment." He also claimed he never brought race into the case, a claim Anthony's own attorney directly disputed. Anthony is currently serving 35 years for the fatal stabbing.
