They noticed everything. They saw everything. Nothing got past them. And now that I’ve taken their place, I feel myself slowly turning into them. A typical Eastern European teacher with eyes in the back of her head. 😂 But something has changed with age. The things I didn’t necessarily appreciate about my teachers when I was young, I remember now with so much appreciation and nostalgia. I never consciously tried to copy them. I think I simply became a little like them naturally. Maybe that’s what happens when you spend your life following the same path. At some point, parts of your teachers become parts of you.
