At just 20, Bittu Tabahi from Biaora, Madhya Pradesh, decided to do something most people only complain about — clean a heavily polluted river. 🌱
On January 26, 2026, Bittu began cleaning the Ajnar River, initially with a few friends. When they stopped, he continued largely on his own, spending hours removing plastic, algae and other waste from the polluted water. Reports say he even put his own money into tools and dustbins and began turning puja waste into compost.
His work was not easy. He faced criticism and even suffered infections from the difficult cleanup work, but he continued. His efforts eventually went viral, earning praise from industrialist Anand Mahindra, who called him his “Monday Motivation.”
Bittu’s story is a reminder that change doesn’t always begin with a big organisation or a government project. Sometimes, it begins with one person deciding to stop waiting for someone else to act. 🇮🇳🌊
Respect for the effort. ❤️👏
