A dangerous hike near Skykomish ended with a helicopter rescue after three teenage hikers became stranded on a narrow ridge near Crosby Mountain. The group had scrambled up steep terrain and could not safely descend, while one teen experienced a panic attack.
The hikers were stranded about 3,900 feet up in a remote area where a ground rescue could have taken overnight and required a lengthy pack-out. King County Air Support’s Guardian 2 helicopter hoisted all three to safety, and they later reunited with their families at Skykomish Airport.
