Dove season opens on Sept. 1! Biologists are reporting good dove numbers across much of the state, with excellent numbers in some areas. With each north wind, migrating doves continue to file into Oklahoma, while resident doves are beginning to congregate. Recently mowed or burned dove fields and areas with seed-producing native vegetation should be worth watching. Hunters will want to put in some legwork and scout these areas ahead of opening day.
