Heading into busy season has got me feeling all sorts of ways. I have mixed feelings about how this year has played out. It has not been my best year business wise and has been overall frustrating. But I’ve come to realize that it’s because this year is a “growing pain” year. While my values and reasoning behind why I started photography (and piano lessons) has not changed (my family, specifically my kids), how I honor them has slightly. It used to be that I plan my kids’ lives around my business. I’d plan around photoshoots and piano lessons. Now, I’m planning business around their lives. And the shift is important and how it should be! It’s bringing me toward the ultimate goal of family first and having a job that provides both financially and with time to spend with them.
