Dolly Parton said something that really resonated with me: don’t be afraid to fail.
And I’m not.
I don’t really look at things that didn’t work out as “failures.” I look at them as information. Lessons. Sometimes very expensive lessons. 😂
If something didn’t pan out the way I hoped, I ask myself: What did this teach me? What would I do differently next time? What am I absolutely NOT doing again?
That’s growth.
I’ve never been afraid to start over, pivot, rebuild, or admit that something simply wasn’t the right move. I’d rather try, learn, and adjust than spend my life wondering what if?
And the part Dolly talks about regarding being poor hits differently too. When you’ve experienced seasons where you didn’t have much, the idea of “losing everything” doesn’t hold the same power over you. You already know you can build again.
I’ve built before. I can build again.
So no, failure doesn’t scare me.
