I nearly walked past this shirt. Then I read the back. Six racket names, six decades — T2000, Pro Staff, Hammer, nCode, Blade, Ultra. And it turns out that’s deliberate: Wilson describes the artwork as their legendary racket franchise logos. Somebody in that design room plays. It‘s the Play State PureDry Tee from Wilson Korea (₩85,000). PureDry is their sweat-wicking fabric, and the claim is that it won’t stick to your skin. In Bangkok that claim gets tested properly. Three hours, 34 degrees — and the boxy cut is doing as much work as the fabric. It hangs off you instead of sitting on you, and that gap is the entire point. Shoes are the Response Pro 1.5 Turf (₩180,000). Hybrid outsole built for artificial turf and clay, so you get grip and lateral support on the two surfaces that usually punish you for trusting them. Around 300g, mesh upper, two-part Ortholite insole. Light enough that you stop thinking about them, which is the highest compliment I give a tennis shoe. Six names on ...
