But there’s a little more cooking behind the counter at Happy Joe Coffee. Husband-and-wife team Joe and Bre Yarbrough brought Happy Joe to Tempe, and Joe’s Detroit roots eventually inspired a new venture: Happy Joe Pizza. What started in August 2025 has officially hit the one-year mark, bringing Detroit-style pizza with that thick crust and crispy, cheesy edge to Downtown Tempe every Friday.
