Agamemnon’s helmet in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey features a striking row of structures shaped like human vertebrae running down the back of the head and neck. The resemblance is more than a random visual detail. The cervical spine contains seven vertebrae, stacked to support the skull while allowing the neck to move and rotate. By incorporating vertebral forms into the helmet’s crest, the design creates the unsettling impression that the warrior is wearing a literal spine as part of his armor.
