For its latest “Denim on Your Own” campaign, GAP tapped Southern University’s legendary Human Jukebox—and the result feels less like a campaign and more like a reminder: some of the most influential style in America has always started on the yard. Dressed in dark-wash denim, Southern pride, and undeniable Jaguar swagger, the band brought a classic American staple back to where culture has always pushed it forward.
The blueprint has never been hard to find. The question is whether brands are willing to give it the credit it deserves.
