Robert Irwin has shared a touching tribute to his dad Steve, 20 years on from his death ❤️
The 22-year-old posted a childhood photo of himself looking up at his dad, alongside the simple message: “Your legacy is forever.”
Robert was just two years old when Steve died aged 44 on 4 September 2006, while Bindi was eight.
Both have since followed in their dad's footsteps, dedicating much of their lives to wildlife and conservation alongside their mum Terri at Australia Zoo.
Bindi also marked the anniversary with an emotional tribute, revealing her five-year-old daughter Grace watches Steve's documentaries every morning and knows the grandfather she never got to meet as “grandpa crocodile”.
She wrote: “I always thought that my dad's legacy is wildlife conservation; it turns out, his legacy is love.”
20 years later and his impact is still being felt around the world ❤️
