Young people are now meeting up in huge groups to find out who has the most 'aura' 😭 The idea of earning 'aura points' for looking effortlessly cool has made the jump from social media to real-life competitions, with teenagers facing off in front of crowds. Known as 'aura battles', competitors take turns using poses, facial expressions, dances and references to viral memes, with confidence and creativity deciding who comes out on top. The trend has already spread across countries including Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Peru and Bolivia, with similar meet-ups now appearing in Spain and the USA. And there's actually something at stake. At a recent battle in Mexico City, 16-year-old Kaled Rosales Salazar was crowned the winner and walked away with 2,000 Mexican pesos in prize money. He summed up why he entered pretty perfectly: “If I could do this for free at home, I might as well do it for a reward, right?” #aura #cringe #ladbible
